The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a slight NW-SE ridge at the E end of an E-W drumlin ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 34m E-W; 31.7m N-S) defined by a regular earthen bank (Wth of base 2.2-2.3m; int. H 0.6-0.75m; ext. H 1.6m), with no visible fosse. There is a modern entrance at WNW and another entrance (Wth of base 1m) at SE could also be modern. It was converted into a tree-ring by planting beech trees inside the bank.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
