The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on top of a drumlin. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 25m N-S; 23m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.9-1.4m) and hedge with traces of an outer fosse. No entrance of any kind was noted.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
