The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the S end of a N-S drumlin ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 46m E-W; 44m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at SSE: Wth of base 2.9m; int. H 0.85m; ext. H 1.55m) NE-SSW and hedge that is reduced to a scarp and hedge elsewhere, with an outer drain that is absent at E. The original entrance is not identified but there is a modern gap (Wth 1.85m) at NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
