The National Monuments Service's description
Located at the E summit of a WNW-ESE drumlin ridge. This is a raised subcircular and grass-covered area (dims 33m WNW-ESE; 28m NNE-SSW) defined by a slight earthen bank (at WNW: int. H c. 0.3m; ext. H 2.2m) with a water-logged fosse (at WNW: Wth of top 2.5m; Wth of base 1.4m; D 0.55m), which is bounded externally by a field bank N-SE. There is a large depression (dims 8m ENE-WSW; 4m N-S; max. D 1m) extending through the bank at WSW, and the original entrance at E has been widened but there is also a causeway (Wth of top 1.8m; H 0.45m).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
