The National Monuments Service's description
Located in a low-lying landscape on a slight S-facing slope. It is represented only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘Giant’s Grave’. It is very ruined and consists of two overlapping stones that are incorporated in the S face of a WNW-ESE field bank and probably represent one side of a gallery. The cairn (MO013-022----) is c. 150m to the SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
