The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a shelf towards the bottom of a SE-facing slope. A megalithic structure consisting of six upright stones (H c. 0.7-1.15m) was first recorded by Oliver Davies in 1942 (SMR file), but no pattern was discerned. There were other prone stones that were probably field stones, and two smaller stones were set in the ground c. 2m to the E. The stones were removed between 1968 and 1984.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
