The National Monuments Service's description

Located at the N end of a NE-SW drumlin ridge. This is a raised oval grass-covered area (dims 54.7m E-W; 45m N-S) defined by a scarp (at N: Wth 1m; H 1.6m) and hedge with an outer drain (at N: Wth of top 1.6m; Wth of base 1.1m; D 0.3m). There is a modern entrance gap at SW, but the original entrance is likely to be a widened gap (Wth at base 3.1m) at ENE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
