The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the SW-facing slope of a rise in a fairly low-lying landscape with a small stream c. 50m to the W. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 37m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by a scarp (at SE: Wth 1m; H 1m) and hedge. There is no visible fosse and the modern entrance is at WNW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
