The National Monuments Service's description
Archaeological monitoring (15E0577) by P. Duffy, D. Bayle and J. Whitaker of topsoil stripping over a large area (c. 92 ha.) conducted intermittently between Dec. 2015 and October 2018 uncovered 37 locations of potential archaeological importance (excavations.ie 2016:051). Each of these was further investigated by the same archaeologists under different licences. At Site 6 excavation (16E0063) by P. Duffy recorded (excavations. ie 2016:559) two small pits c. 1m apart. One pit (dims 0.3m x 0.28m; D 0.07m) had a single fill of grey silty sand while the other (dims 0.35m x 0.18m; D 0.09m) had a layer of orange/brown sandy clay beneath brown/black silty clay with charcoal. Both had inclusions of burnt bone and animal bone but there was no in situ burning. No artefacts were recovered and no dating is available. (Duffy et. al. 2021, 34-5)
