The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight E-facing slope. A church at Rathroane in Rathcore parish does not occur in the ecclesiastical lists. The foundations of a rectangular building orientated E-W (dims 6.3m E-W; 4.2m N-S) with a possible entrance at the S side is described locally as a church.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
