The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight rise in a fairly level landscape with a NW-SE canalised section of the Rye Water River c. 50m to the N. This is a raised circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m N-S; 29.8m WNW-ESE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 8-10m; int. H 0.7-1m; ext. H 2-2.2m) and a rounded outer fosse (Wth of top 8.5-9m; Wth of base 1m; ext. D 0.6-1.1m). There are small breaks in the bank at ESE and WNW but the original entrance is not identified (max. ext. diam. 50m WNW-ESE). A modern house had been built just to the NW by 1995 (OSAP).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
