The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a S-facing slope. A souterrain came to light during land works in April 1995. It consisted of a passage (exposed L 1.55m; Wth at base 0.7-0.75m; H 0.93-0.95m) leading at its SE end to an oval beehive chamber (dims 2.6-2.85m; N-S; 2.2m E-W; original H c. 2m) that had been closed with a single capstone, which had been dislodged. There is bedrock exposed in the chamber at W, and an air-vent (Wth 0.32m; H 0.3m; exposed L 1.2m) c. 1m over the floor of the chamber at SE sloped upwards steeply. The perimeter of the Irishtown henge (ME038-011----) is c. 70m to the N and the perimeter of the Kilbrew henge (ME038-010----) is c. 70m to the SW. Archaeological testing (12E0049) by R. Meenan within c. 30m of the location produced no evidence of any associated enclosure or structures (excavation.ie 2012:462). (Clinton 1996, 33-36)
