The National Monuments Service's description
Located in pasture on a slight SW-facing slope. Earthwork features are visible on an oblique aerial photographs (CUCAP: AYS059-060) from 1969 and also on vertical aerial photographs from the 1970s (GSIAP: N 88, 89) and some later series of images such as Google Earth (23/09/2013). A system of rectangular fields defined by low earthen banks (Wth c. 5m; max. H 0.5m), scarps and grass-covered ditches (Wth c. 2-3.5m; D c. 0.2-0.3m) covers about 17 ha (c. 45 acres) and includes an old stream bed or a hollow way (Wth c. 4m) extending E-W across the area. The fields can be large (dims c. 90m x c. 50m) and have evidence of cultivation ridges. Some smaller plots (dims c. 30m x c. 20m) could be associated with two house sites. There are some old grass-covered quarries in the vicinity of the houses. The field banks extend W to the side of the N-S R147 Dunshaughlin to Navan road and the deserted settlement (ME038-008----) is at the SE part of the fields.
