The National Monuments Service's description

The headstone (dims 0.33m x 0.8m; T 0.19-0.21m) of John Revell with a chamfer on one edge and an incised inscription is outside the NE angle of the church tower of St Patrick's church (ME036-048012-). The incised inscription has been read (FitzGerald 1921-5, 73) as: I R / JOHN REVELL / HIS BURING / PLEASCE WHO / DIED THE 24 / DAY OF IUNE / 1694.
