The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a fairly low-lying landscape with the NNW-SSE Athboy River, also called the Tremblestown River, c. 250m to the WSW. The cropmark of a complex trivallate circular enclosure is visible on Google Earth (14/07/2018). A circular area (diam. c. 25m) is defined by a slight fosse feature that is absent S-W. This is within a subcircular area (dims c. 57m N-S; c. 47m E-W) defined by another fosse with an entrance gap (Wth c. 5m) at SE. This is within third subcircular enclosure (dims c. 77m N-S; 65m E-W) defined by a fosse, which also has an entrance gap (Wth c. 5m) at SE but the fosse is very faint W-N-NE. The outermost fosse is depicted as a field boundary on the 1836 and 1912 editions of the OS 6-inch map S-W. A D-shaped annexe (dims c. 32m N-S; c. 20m E-W) is attached to the outer fosse at ENE, and some small paddocks are just to the SE. It was first reported by Jean-Charles Caillere.
