The National Monuments Service's description

Outside the rath fosse at NW a ditch extended NW which, although not connected with it, is probably a contemporary land boundary. Its fill was cut by one of five arcing slot-trenches that combine to create a circular structure just outside the ambit of the rath and its annexes. This is a double-walled (int. diam. c. 7m; ext. diam. c. 8.5m) hut-site, or possibly a hut-site with a drip-channel, with possible entrances at N and E, but as its slot-trenches are cut in the top fill of the boundary ditch it probably relates to Phase 4 by which time the rath was absorbed into its annexes.
