The National Monuments Service's description

The graveslab (dims 2.04m x 0.91m) of Sir Christopher Plunkett (d. 1531) and Katherine Preston is a large stone with a stepped Calvary and the symbols of the Passion and two heraldic shields. It is adjacent the N end of the altar at Rathmore church (ME024-017001-). (FitzGerald 1908, 434-5; Leask 1933, 163)
It is described by FitzGerlad (1908) as:
The inscription in full reads thus (in gothic lettering): Hic iacent Cristoforus / Plunket de Rathmore miles, cum domina Kathrine Preston uxore sua, qui / obiit V die mensis mareii / anno domini MDXXXI, et dicta Katrina obit ---- die mensis ---- anno domini MD ---quorum animavus propicetur (Deus).
This Sir Christopher Plunkett was the eldest son of Sir Alexander Plunkett, Lord Chancellor of Ireland, whose tomb-slab has been described above. His wife, was Catherine Preston, daughter of Robert, 1st Viscount Gormanston, and sister of Ili\abeth, who was married to Sir Thomas FitzGerald, Knt. Of Lackagh, County Kildare, Loef Chancellor of Ireland, second son of Thomas, 7th Earl of Kildare.
