The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in a hollow in a low-lying undulating landscape. It is not depicted on any OS map but is visible on aerial photographs (GSIAP: N 288, 289) from the 1970s and later series. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims c. 30m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by wide flat-bottomed moats (Wth of top 12-19m; Wth of base 8-10m; int. D 0.5m; ext. D 1-1.5m) on every side except the N where the moat has been removed by an E-W field bank. There is a large but shallow and grass-covered quarry (dims 19m E-W; c. 10m N-S; D 0.5-1m) in the interior, but there is no visible entrance.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
