The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a shelf overlooking the SW-NE River Boyne that is c. 200m to the S. This is a rectangular grass-covered structure (int. dims 8.5m E-W; 4.6m N-S) defined by low earth and stone banks (Wth 1m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.7m) with a wide gap at W and it may be small church. The platform on which it is situated (dims c. 20m E-W; c. 20m N-S) is defined by a steep scarp SE-S-W and is strewn with stones. The platform may be a graveyard, which local tradition regards as a Fleming burial ground (Fitzsimons 1975, 65). It may have served the tower house (ME019-033001-) c. 700m to the E as a private chapel.
