The National Monuments Service's description
Located in a fairly level landscape and c. 25m S of a NW-SE section of a small W-E stream. This is a slightly raised, circular and overgrown area (diam. 24m N-S; 22m WNW-ESE) defined by an earthen bank (at W: Wth of base 5.2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.5m; at S: Wth of base 6.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.8m) frequently reduced to an external scarp (at N: Wth 3.5m; H 1.4m) and a small fosse (Wth of top 7.5-9.5m; Wth of base 2-2.9m; ext. D 0.6-0.85m). There is a modern entrance at W, but the original entrance is not identified.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
