The National Monuments Service's description
Set upright inside the entrance porch to St Patrick’s Church of Ireland church at Donaghpatrick (ME017-034006-) on the S wall and to the W (right) of the doorway into the church. This stone was moved from the site of Randalstown castle (ME025-069----) c. 1970 (Everard 2000, 171). A limestone armorial stone (Wth 0.6m; H 0.96m; T 9cm) has a heater-shaped shield with the Everard arms – two stars above and one below a wave – surmounted by a helmet facing left with the visor closed and a pelican above. The Everard motto is on a ribbon beneath the crest: VIRTVS IN ACTIONE CONSISTIT (Virtue consists of actions). Beneath this in a different script is: This addition with other improvements to the old / castle was erected by / Coll. Mathias Everard who / dyed the 12th March 1714.
