The National Monuments Service's description

Located at the S base of a low ridge on the S bank of a NW-SE section of the River Blackwater, with the stream c. 30m to the NE. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims 32m NW-SE; 28m NE-SW) defined by earthen banks (at SW: Wth of base 6.5m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1m) and outer fosses or moats (at SW: Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 2.6m; ext. D 0.8m), with outer banks on the NE (Wth of base 5m; H 0.5m) and NW sides. An original entrance is not identified.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
