The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a rise in a fairly level landscape. This is a raised and grass-covered subcircular area (dims 55.5m N-S; 46.4m E-W) defined by an overgrown fosse (at ENE: Wth of top 5.5m; Wth of base 3m; int. D 1.3m; ext. D 0.9m;) which is best preserved S-W (at SW: Wth of top 10m; int. D 2m; int. D 2.5m; ext. D 1.8m) but which has been removed by farm buildings NW-N. There is a causeway (Wth of top 5.7m; H 0.5-1m) at E, which is the modern entrance.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
