The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight SW-facing slope in a low-lying landscape. This is a large subcircular to subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 56m NW-SE; 49m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 4m; int. H 0.2m at SW to 0.8m at NE; ext. H 0.9m at NE to 1.4m at SW), and an outer fosse (Wth of top 5m; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 0.3m) S-SW. It has curved corners at S, NW and N, and a gap (Wth of base 2.5m) at SE is probably the original entrance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
