The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a slight NE-SW ridge in an undulating low-lying landscape with higher ground to the NW and SW. This is a sub-triangular grass-covered area (dims c. 65m NE-SW; c. 55m NW-SE) with the apex at NE. It is defined by an earthen bank (at NNW: Wth of base 5.7m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 2.6m), with an outer fosse (Wth of top c. 10m; D c. 2m) N-NE across the ridge. There is an external berm (Wth c. 4m) at the base of the bank with an outer relict field bank SSE-W. There is a wide entrance gap (Wth of base 10m) and a possible causeway (Wth c. 5m) at NNE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
