The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a rise on a fairly low-lying undulating landscape with Carrick Lough, a small lake (diam. c. 100m) just 40m to the SW. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (diam. 47m NW-SE; 43m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank and an outer fosse that morphs into a berm SW-N-E. The entrance is at SE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
