The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a SW-NE spur in an undulating landscape. This is a raised circular and grass-covered area (diam.43m N-S; 40.5m NW-SE) that slopes down slightly to the E. It is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth of base 7.5-8.5m; int. H 0.3-0.4m; ext. H 2.4m at SE to 3.2m at W) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 9.5-11.5m; Wth of base 3.2-4m; ext. D 1-1.5m), with an outer bank (at SE: Wth of base 5.3m; ext. D 0.5m) E-SE and W-NNE. The entrance (Wth of base 2.5m) is at E, and a farm lane occupies the fosse NNE-E. Rath (ME014-008----) is c. 90m to the NE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
