The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the W end of a broad but low hill. This is a raised circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 44m N-S; 43m E-W) defined by a slight earthen bank (at SSE: Wth of base 10m; Wth of top 3.2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 3.2m) NW-E-S on a high scarp. The overgrown scarp is separated by a fosse (at SSE: Wth of top 7.9m; Wth of base 3m; ext. D 0.1m) E-SW from an outer bank (at SSE: Wth of base 6m; ext. H 0.3-1m) SE-SW and NNW-ENE. The beehive chamber of a souterrain (ME011-029002-) is inside the perimeter at W where the interior of the rath is higher. The original entrance to the rath is not identified. Rath (ME011-030----) is c. 90m to the SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
