The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a S-facing slope. Flat-topped, tree-covered and circular earthen mound (diam. of top 14.4m N-S; 14m E-W; diam. of base c. 35m; H 4-5m N-E to 7.5m S-W), with a fosse (at SSW: Wth of top 6m; Wth of base 3m; ext. D c. 1m) SSW-NW. An earthen bank extending SW from the fosse at SW and a scarp extending NW from the fosse at NW could create a crescentic baily (dim. c. 15m E-W) defined by the curved boundary of the woodland SW-NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
