The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the top of a NE-facing slope. This is a circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 26.8m NW-SE; 24m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (at NW: Wth of base 8m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 2.4m) with trees and an outer fosse (at NW: Wth of top 7m; Wth of base 2.8m; ext. D 1.2m) S-W-NE that is largely reduced to an external scarp (at SE: Wth 7m; H 3.7m) with a step (Wth 1.5m) where trees are planted NE-S. The entrance could be a slight fold (Wth of top 4m) in the top of the scarp at SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
