The National Monuments Service's description

Located on top of a drumlin which is in a loop of the SW-NE River Dee. The rive curves around the base of the drumlin c. 90-200m distant SW-S-E. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 19m E-W; 17m N-S) with some trees defined by an earthen bank (at N: Wth of base 8.5m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 2m), and outer fosse SE-W-E (at S: Wth of top 5m; Wth of base 2.1m; int. D 0.5m; ext. D 0.55m). There is a causeway (Wth of top 3m) at W. The rath is within a tree-ring (diam. c. 30m) which is in view of Rockfiedl House c. 900m to the W. The tree-ring is defined by a scarp (H 0.9m) with an outer drain (Wth of base 1.8m; D 0.2m)
