The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a local NW-SE ridge. This is a raised oval and grass-covered area (dims 58.5m NW-SE; 42m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 11-15m; int. H 0.7m at S to 1.5m at N; ext. H 2.5m at N to 3.6m at S) with some bushes, and a slight fosse (at N: Wth of base 5m; ext. D 0.3m) WNW-NNE. The original entrance (Wth of base 2.4m) is at SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
