The National Monuments Service's description
Located at the base of a gently rounded hillock (H c. 3m) on the floor of a N-S valley with a canalised N-S stream c. 80m to the E and a disused N-S rail line immediately to the E. It is not marked on any OS map but it is visible on aerial photographs (GSIAP: N 669, 670). This is an oval grass-covered area (dims 61.5m N-S; 51m E-W) defined by a fosse (at SE: Wth of top 5m; ext. D 0.3m), with a counterscarp bank (at SE: Wth of base 4m; ext. H0.2m) NW-E-SW. An entrance is not identified.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
