The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a hillock towards the bottom of a SE-facing slope. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 30.5m NNE-SSW) that slopes down gently to the S (H 1m). It is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at SSW: Wth of base 8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.6m) and broad outer fosse (Wth of top 12m; Wth of base 3.5m; ext. D 0.8m) SE-SW but the bank is largely reduced to a scarp (at NNE: Wth 3m; ext. H 0.7m) and the fosse is largely absent elsewhere. The original entrance is probably a gap (Wth of base 2m) at E. Archaeological testing (21E0276) by L. Clarke immediately to the N produced no related material (excavations.ie 2021:121).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
