The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a rise on a S-facing slope. It is not recorded on any edition of the OS 6-inch map but it is regarded locally as a rath called ‘Lissawhiggle’. This is a slightly raised circular area (diam. 28m), ploughed in 1968, that slopes down to the SE. It is defined by a slight scarp and it is accommodated by a change in direction of a field bank at NW. The field drain outside it is wider (Wth of base 3m; ext. D 1.6m) at this point than elsewhere.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
