The National Monuments Service's description

Situated just SE of the summit of a broad hill. This is a raised circular and grass-covered area (diam. 38m WNW-ESE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 6-6.5m; int. H 0.6-1m; ext. H 2.8-3m) with trees separated by a fosse (Wth of top 6-7m; Wth of base 2m at WNE; ext. D 0.5m at ESE to 1.8m at WNW) from an outer bank (at WNW: Wth of base 4m; Wth of top 1.5m; ext. H 0.6m) and an outer drain that only survive W-N. The entrance is probably a break (Wth of base 1.3m) in the bank at SSE where the fosse is absent (SSE-SW) because of the proximity of abandoned farm buildings that had been removed by 1995 (OSAP). Archaeological testing (20E0278) by P. D. Sweetman c. 100m to the N at the nearest point produced no related material.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
