The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the NW-facing spine of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 41.5m NNE-SSW; 40m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (at NNE: Wth of base 5.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.8m) with some bushes, and an outer fosse (at NNE: Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 1m; ext. D 0.2m) NNE-S. There are gaps in the perimeter at W and NE but the original entrance (Wth of base 1.8m) is at ESE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
