The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on slight N-S ridge in a fairly low-lying landscape surrounded by drumlins and within a mixed wood with mature trees and young plantings. This is a circular area (diam. 30m NNW-SSE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 6-7.7m; int. H 0.7m at S to 1.3m at N) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 5-6.2m; Wth of base 1-2.2m ext. D 1.1-1.4m) from an outer bank (at W: Wth of base 4.3m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 0.7m) that morphs into a field bank (at SSE: Wth of base 3.7m; ext. H 1.3m) with an outer drain (Wth of top 2.3m; ext. D 0.5m) E-SW. There is a widened entrance (Wth of base 3.3m) at ESE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
