The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a slight rise in lowlying rolling limestone grassland, with good views in all directions.
Subcircular raised area (int. 42m E−W; 44m N−S) defined by a broad, low partly sod-covered stone bank/wall (overall Wth 6-7m; Wth top c. 2.5-3m). In situ facing stones protrude at random around the circuit, and a broad stony external slump (ext. H 0.9m; Wth slope c. 3-4m) emphasizes the platform. Heaps of small, loose stones occur around the circuit, probably field clearance stones. A single large prostrate slab lies on the external face of the enclosing wall at W. It is not sod-covered, and appears to be resting on the surface, with many small stones in a slight cavity beneath it; it does not appear to be part of a structure, such as a souterrain.
A gap (Wth 2.5-3m) in the enclosing wall at ESE is likely to be an original entrance. The terminals retain remnants of stone facing, and a gently sloping ramp flanked by low stony banks, extends outwards from the gap.
A ruined rectangular house (MA119-052003-) occupies much of the space in the centre of the interior, and another possible house (MA119-052004-) abuts the inner edge of the cashel wall at SE. Levelled remnants of a field system (MA119-052002-) surround the cashel.
