The National Monuments Service's description

On rise in undulating pasture; possible medieval settlement to NW. N wall (L 8.2m; Wth 2m) of rectangular tower survives to 2nd-floor. Outline of porly preserved spiral stairs, lighted by two narrow windows, in NE corner runs to top of building. Mural passage in 1st-floor leads to garderobe at W end. Evidence of vaulted ceiling on 1st-floor. Owned by Richard MacJonyn in 1574 when known as Ellistronbeg (Knox 1908, 348).
