The National Monuments Service's description
Located in lowlying flat, reclaimed pastureland. This burnt mound was discovered during road verge pipe laying on the Lough Mask Regional Water Supply Scheme (2001-2002). It was recorded and sampled under licence 01E0314 (Guinan 2015, 104-105, Treannaskehy I). Burnt sandstone and charcoal was visible in section in the pipe trench at a depth of c. 0.5m below the road surface. It was clear that the burnt material continued beneath the road to N and also into the adjoining field to S. The route of the pipe was subsequently altered to avoid the monument. A charcoal sample produced a radiocarbon date of 3687+/-43 BP (2201-1957 BC) which dates the site to the Early Bronze Age. There is another burnt mound (MA112-115----) c. 60m to SW. There was a fulacht fia (MA112-113----) c. 35m to NE. (Guinan 2015, 104-105).
