The National Monuments Service's description
This bridge, spanning the Dalgan River, straddles the Mayo/Galway border. In Galway the bridge is located in Kinnakinelly townland and is recorded under the number GA004-036----. An NIAH survey of the bridge (NIAH Reg. No. 30400401) describes it as follows: ‘Narrow hump-backed nine-arch limestone bridge, built c. 1725. Walls of coursed rubble limestone with tall arches, round to west, downstream side, and pointed round to east side, having thin roughly cut voussoirs. Renovated recently with new pointing and cement copings and with insertion of metal tie rods and plates to northern four arches. Upstream side has tall cutwaters with concrete or rendered caps in which pipe has been carried.’ (http://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah)
