The National Monuments Service's description
This castle, with associated bawn (MA110-066001-), is listed in the 1635 Strafford Inquisition of Co. Mayo: 'Rickard Bourck -1 cartron and ΒΌ part of a ruineous castle and bawn in the qr of Clonekerry.' (O' Sullivan 1958, 57). Its exact location in the townland is unknown.
