The National Monuments Service's description
In average pasture, on a rise in undulating limestone terrain, immediately to NE of a cashel (MA093-007001-).
This field wall of unknown date was recorded in 1984 (SMR file) but subsequently destroyed during land reclamation in late 1980's/early 1990's. The wall (Wth c. 1m; H c. 0.5m) was described as consisting of two facings of large stones with a core of small stones. It extended from the NE side of the cashel in a broad curve N–E. The point of contact of the wall and the cashel wall was obscured by a later field wall. At its E end the wall intersected with a modern NNW–SSE field wall (which is shown c. 20m to E of the cashel on the 1916 OS 6-inch map) which was also removed during reclamation works.
Approximately a third of the way along its length, short projecting walls branched from the wall to meet the SW and SE corners of a small rectangular enclosure (MA093-007004-). Slight surface undulations can still be discerned, suggesting that the wall followed the natural curving contours of the rise on which the cashel is situated.
