The National Monuments Service's description

There is a souterrain in Coolnaha South cashel (MA093-006001-) (Pers. comm. Leo Morahan, SMR file). A slightly raised, sod-covered feature (Wth c. 2m; H 0.3m) which follows a zig-zag course through the NW quadrant of the cashel could possibly be a surface indication of the souterrain, although there was no clear evidence to confirm this. It extend for 12m to SW into the interior from the cashel wall at NW, then turns to NNE for 8.3m and turns again to ENE for 12-13m.
