Located in the NW end of Derry Lough, c. 60m from the shore.
This crannog (14.7m NE−SW; 16.9m NW−SE) consists of a central stony core, which supports remnants of timber flooring and an enclosing timber palisade. The stone core is submerged, but there is a raised area on the NW side of the crannog where remnants of the timber flooring protrude from the edge, and upright stakes of the palisade are exposed at regular intervals. The timber flooring, which probably represents the remains of a habitation platform, appears to rest on a layer of sandy stony material and traces of brushwood. The timbers lie parallel to each other, and average 2.5m in length. A perforation was noted at the end of some timbers, which suggests that they were fixed in place with dowels. The palisade timbers consist of simple stakes or piles, and also worked timbers or planks, some of which exhibit traces of burning.
