The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located in gently undulating terrain.
A discrete patchwork of rectangular and sub-rectangular fields (max. dim. c. 40-50m) on a roughly NW–SE axis. The fields are enclosed by earthen banks (Wth c. 1.7-2m; H 0.5m) incorporating large stones, and in some cases, merely by a wall consisting of a single line of close-set stones and boulders, with some stones set transversely to the long axis of the wall. The banks and walls generally follow a linear trajectory, but meander gently to follow natural contours where natural rises or rock outcropping occurs. Cultivation ridges, oriented both NW–SE and NE–SW, are visible within the fields. The occurrence of cultivation ridges also within a rath (MA092-062001-), which lies at the SE limits of the field system and is respected by the field boundaries, suggests that this field system post-dates the rath. The overall impression is that it is post-1700 in date. There is an enclosure (MA092-062003-) at the NW limits of the field system, and an earthwork (MA092-062004) is located c. 25m to SSW.
