The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a low ridge. Ground falls away to S to an area of wet ground which extends SE for 200m to the shores of Cloonturnaun Lough. Ground also falls to N to lowlying damp pasture. A modern farmstead lies immediately to W−NW.
This rath, named ‘Lisnamucka’ on the 1838 and 1917 OS 6-inch maps, consists of a circular platform (diam. c. 25m) defined by a scarp (H 1.2m at NE, 1.5m at W). The scarp is faced externally with stone and topped with a low stony rim at ENE–NW where it is incorporated into a later property fence. A farm lane (Wth 3.5m) skirts the SW arc. According to local tradition there is a souterrain (MA092-042001-) in the rath interior. The interior is engulfed in blackthorn and brambles, which impeded inspection; the perimeter is thickly ringed with hawthorn, blackthorn and brambles. Another rath (MA092-043----) is located 300m to E.
