The National Monuments Service's description
In in pasture in the SE corner of the townland,, crowning a prominent rise, which affords good views over an undulating landscape of pasture and bog.
Raised roughly circular area (31m N–S; c. 30-35m E–W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.2m, at W; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.75m at W, 1.7m at E, 1.9m at S).
The bank shows evidence of modification: the external face has been cut to the vertical and roughly faced with stones (largely tumbled now), and at S–SW and W–NW it has been incorporated into two later field fences. There is a break (Wth 1.4m) at the top of the bank at W, but no clearly defined entrance feature.
According to local tradition, there is a souterrain (MA092-041001-) in the rath interior.
The interior is engulfed in an impenetrable thicket of brambles, impeding inspection; the bank is thickly ringed with hawthorn and gorse.
