In pasture, located in a rocky knoll.
According to local tradition, there is a ‘cave’ or souterrain in the knoll; it consists of a stone-built passage, the entrance to which was on the NE side of the knoll, immediately to N of a field wall that traverses the knoll on an E–W axis. The passage was blocked up and there are now no visible remains. The knoll (c. 15m N–S; c. 10m E–W) was known as a ‘fort’, however, there is no visible evidence of an enclosure. It has a relatively flat top (c. 8m N−S; c. 6m E−W) and a rather irregular and rocky surface, with stones and boulders protruding randomly at the base of the knoll. It is crossed by a field wall on its N edge and is engulfed in blackthorn, hawthorn and brambles.
